Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Train In Palmetto: FL Highway Patrol
A man walked in front of a train at a railroad crossing in Manatee County Monday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said.

PALMETTO, FL — A Palmetto man died after walking in front of a train in Manatee County Tuesday afternoon, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
Just before 5:30 p.m., the 32-year-old was near a railroad crossing at Bayshore Road in Palmetto, not far from 25th Street West, when he stepped in front of an approaching train, the agency said.
The train, driven by a 50-year-old Brandon man, was traveling south and pulling 42 loaded rail cars.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other injuries.
His death remains under investigation, FHP said.
