Pedestrian Killed After Dump Truck Runs Over Them In Manatee County
The incident occurred Wednesday at a construction site near Parrish, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A pedestrian died Wednesday after police said they were run over by a dump truck in Manatee County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident occurred shortly after noon on Wednesday in a construction area for a new subdivision located near Diamond Reef Drive and Bella Mar Trail.
A dump truck driven by a 46-year-old woman from Wesley Chapel was backing up in an easterly direction on Bella Mar Trail when it ran over the 53-year-old pedestrian.

According to police, the pedestrian was helping the dump truck driver when the incident occurred. The pedestrian tripped and fell before they were run over by the dump truck's right-side tires, police said.
The pedestrian, whom police did not identify, was pronounced dead on scene by Manatee County E.M.S.
