Person With Rifle Breaks Into Lanai In Lakewood Ranch: Sheriff
The armed suspect cut through the lanai's screen door and walked around the pool deck carrying a rifle, the sheriff's office said.
LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL — Manatee County Sheriff’s Office are seeking an unknown suspect that broke into an enclosed lanai at a Lakewood Ranch home while carrying a rifle on Dec. 1.
The suspect cut through the screen door to enter the lanai at a home in the Greenbrook/Summerfield area of Lakewood Ranch around 3:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The home’s security system captured the suspect, who was armed with a rifle, walking slowly around the pool deck. The video, which the sheriff’s office shared on Twitter, didn’t show the person entering the pool cage or leaving the property.

While the suspect’s gender is unknown, the sheriff’s office said the individual has a slim build, and was wearing a beanie-style hat, ear protection headphones, a face covering, sweatpants, gloves and Crocs. Their height could range from 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall and they weigh between 150 and 180 pounds.

Detectives are looking for additional videos and information about this subject. They haven’t received reports of similar incidents in this neighborhood or elsewhere in Manatee County.
