Presidential Preference Primary 2016: Where To Vote In Bradenton

BRADENTON, FL — Florida Republican and Democratic voters ready to have their say on which candidates will make the ballot in the 2016 presidential race get their chance Tuesday.

The polls in the state’s Presidential Preference Primary open at 7 a.m. March 15 and close at 7 p.m. Since Florida is a closed primary state, only registered Republicans may vote for Republican nominees and only Democrats may vote on that party’s ticket. Independent voters will have to wait until the Nov. 8 general election to make their choices known.

Manatee County has a total of 216,151 registered voters, according to the Supervisor of Elections Office. Of that number, 67,215 are Democrats and 93,063 are Republicans.

Voters who are unsure where to report to cast their ballots Tuesday can look up their polling place on the supervisor’s website. All that is required is entering the voter’s home address to find the proper precinct location. To look up a precinct, just visit the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections online.

As of Monday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was polling ahead for the Democrats while businessman Donald Trump led the Republican pack.
