Registration is open for new and returning students for Spring 2021 at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF). Financial assistance, flexible schedule options, academic advising and career coaching are available to help students become workforce ready or lay the foundation to pursue an advanced degree. Registration is available at My.SCF.edu or through the SCF Mobile app.

Spring 2021 classes begin Monday, Jan. 11. Classes are offered in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Venice and online. SCF presents several scheduling options and course delivery methods to give students the flexibility to pursue a degree without interfering with work or family commitments. Flex Start courses have varying start dates for one 12-week session, two 8-week sessions and three 5-week sessions. SCF’s Weekend College allows students with weekday obligations to attend all their classes on Friday evenings and Saturdays. SCF also provides an expanded online learning format called Go Live, involving live lectures and interpersonal interaction with professors and classmates. Go Live with SCF Online joins the existing traditional online courses where students are encouraged to study at their own pace.

SCF’s associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees and one-year certificate programs are designed to meet the workforce needs of Manatee and Sarasota counties. Students in SCF’s health sciences programs consistently achieve perfect passing rates on industry certification exams. The college also offers ample degree options in the fields of education and technology. Students planning to transfer during their academic career will benefit from coursework that aligns with freshman and sophomore level classes at Florida’s state universities.

Students at SCF can prepare to launch a new career or bolster their credentials at their current job as part of the new “Get Credentialed. Get Noticed!” program. Scholarships and a free laptop computer are available for students in several workforce certificate programs. Many of these certificates can be completed in as little as one year. Visit Programs.SCF.edu/Certificates for more information.

SCF has an array of Signature Programs to engage students while striving to be the region’s first choice for innovative, responsive and quality education. Programs such as the popular 2+2 Springboard and FUSE are two great ways to attain an expensive 4-year degree for less. SCF students can follow a structured path to earn an associate in arts degree while also preparing them to transfer to a four-year program at another university – with more than 10 options right here in Florida. FUSE is a specific 2+2 program in which students complete an associate degree at SCF and are guaranteed admission to the University of South Florida (USF) system when they graduate.
