SCFCS Venice Holds Ongoing Virtual Information Sessions
State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) Venice will host free ongoing virtual information sessions.
State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) Venice will host free ongoing virtual information sessions for rising high school freshmen and juniors in Sarasota County interested in enrolling at SCFCS Venice for the 2021-2022 school year.
The virtual information sessions for families with prospective students entering ninth grade will be held 7 p.m. Thursdays. Interested families with students entering 11th grade should join the virtual information sessions on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Both will be ongoing until March 26, 2021 through livestream at Facebook.com/SCFCSVenice.
SCFCS Venice is a tuition-free public charter school that opened for the Fall 2019 semester at SCF Venice. Students are dual enrolled in college courses that also meet high school requirements allowing them to graduate with a high school diploma and an associate in arts degree. SCFCS Venice graduates also have the opportunity to receive a scholarship to complete their bachelor’s degree at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Students applying to enter SCFCS Venice as a junior must have a 3.0 unweighted grade-point average and pass the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) before their application will be considered. Student services staff at SCFCS Venice can assist with the application process. There are no academic achievement-based criteria for rising freshmen. Students are selected through a random drawing in March 2021.
