SCF's Physical Therapist Assistant Program Graduates "23 Strong"

The 2016 Physical Therapist Assistant graduating class is leaving State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) with a new nickname after realizing they are the largest graduating class (so far) of PTAs. The class, which graduated 23 students this month, dubbed themselves #23Strong.

The PTA program, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, requires rigorous coursework and has limited acceptance. All students in the PTA program must meet the requirements for the Associate in Science degree. As part of their graduation PTA students attend a pinning ceremony in which they receive their Physical Therapist Assistant pins.

PTAs work under the supervision of Physical therapists to help patients recovering from injury or illness regain movement and manage pain.
