State Troopers Launch Operation To Nab Drunk Drivers

The DUI Wolfpack Operation will take place Friday and Saturday in Desoto, Hardee, Highlands, Highlands, Sarasota and Manatee.

BRADENTON, FL-The Florida Highway Patrol will hit the streets Friday in its perennial quest to nab holiday party-goers who drink and drive.

The DUI Wolfpack Operation will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, and run through 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 in the counties of Desoto, Hardee, Highlands, Sarasota and Manatee.

Troopers will concentrate on cars traveling along Interstate 75 and other major state and county roads.

Drivers with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher will face Driving Under Intoxication charges. For drivers under the drinking age of 21, the blood alcohol content threshold is .02 percent or higher under Florida law.

To report an aggressive or intoxicated driver, dial the Florida Highway Patrol at *FHP (*347) dialed from any cell phone.
