Teen Fatally Shot In Backyard Of Bradenton Home: Manatee Sheriff
A 17-year-old Parrish boy was charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of another teen in Bradenton Friday, Manatee sheriff said.
BRADENTON, FL — A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Friday night in the backyard of a Bradenton home, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the home in the 5900 block of 8th Avenue Drive W. just after 7 p.m.
When they arrived, they found the teen, whose name is withheld, with a gunshot wound to his chest lying in the yard, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies performed life-saving measures until EMS got to the home, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told detectives that teenagers were hanging out in the backyard when a gun went off and the group ran in different directions.

They arrested a 17-year-old Parrish boy early Saturday morning at his home for manslaughter with a firearm, MCSO said.
Though the sheriff’s office has named the suspect, it’s Patch policy not to name those in the juvenile justice system. It’s not clear whether the suspect is being charged as a juvenile or an adult.
