Teens Accused Of Carjacking Using Machete, Kitchen Knife
Two teens were arrested after reportedly carjacking a Dodge Charger in Manatee County using a machete and a kitchen knife.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Two teens were arrested after reportedly carjacking a Dodge Charger in Manatee County using a machete and a kitchen knife.
Brittany Pinkston, 18, and her 17-year-old companion are accused of stealing the car from a man they met on Facebook, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff's report said the teens met the victim from Fort Myers through Facebook several weeks ago and agreed to meet in Palmetto Thursday, March 22.

When they stopped to use the bathroom at a gas station, the teens reportedly pulled out the machete and knife, and ordered the man to hand over the keys to the car.
The victim contacted the Palmetto Police Department, which located the car three hours later. When police attempted to pull the car over, the teens sped away, crashing the car in the 2400 block of 17th Street West in Palmetto.

Pinkston is charged with carjacking with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
The juvenile was charged with felony carjacking.
