Troopers: Manatee School Bus Driver Took Out 3 Mailboxes

A 38-year-old Bradenton man was cited by the Florida Highway Patrol following an early Thursday morning crash.

According to the patrol, Eric Walther was stopped eastbound on 35th Lane East, waiting to pick up a child around 6:27 a.m. As the child approached, troopers say Walther attempted to make a left turn onto 36th Court E. and stop at the bus stop.

As Walther turned, however, the right rear of the bus struck and damaged three mailboxes along 35th Lane East.

While the mailboxes were damaged, no one was injured in the crash.

Walther, however, was cited for careless driving.
