Turning Points Receives $14,838.00 Donation from the Pinebrook/Ironwood Ladies Golf Association
Amazing Local Group Supports Homeless Children and Families at Turning Points

The Pinebrook/Ironwood Ladies Golf Association (PILGA) recently presented Turning Points with a $14,838.00 donation! This donation included a cash donation of $12,338.00 plus an in-kind donation of $2,500.00.
PILGA have been strong supporters of Turning Points for several years. The co-chairs of this year’s fundraising efforts were Sandy Spinney and Kathy Martens. These ladies and the entire group really take the issue of homelessness amongst families and children to heart and they are determined to improve their lives.
They held several events in the past month to raise funds for Turning Points and spent several hours on these projects. The first series of events were the Diaper Drives. They collected 6,032 diapers, 614 baby wipes, 143 pairs of boys’ and girls’ underwear, and 247 pairs of boys’ and girls’ socks. They also collected crochet baby hats, baby food, blankets, bodysuits and stuffed animals. The value of this large donation is $2,500.00.

PILGA also held a style show and luncheon, “Stylin for a Cause”, at IMG Academy Golf Club on February 19th. Over 150 ladies gathered to see the great fashions by PJ’s Boutique and to bid on wonderful silent auction and raffle items. PJ’s Boutique is located on Main Street in Sarasota and the ladies showcased over 30 fashions in the fashion show.
The main event was the 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament and Luncheon held on February 24th. Although the Golf Tournament was canceled because of horrendous weather, the luncheon was still held. Major sponsors of the tournament included Clancy’s Irish Sports Pub and Grill, Evie’s Tavern and Grill, First Manatee Bank, Progressive Cabinetry, Sunset Cadillac and Weaver landscaping.
