Vote-By-Mail Ballot Request Deadline Approaching In Manatee County

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — If you’re a Manatee County resident who plans to vote by mail in the Nov. 8 general election, the deadline to request your mail-in ballot is quickly approaching.

You have until Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. to request vote-by-mail ballot. Make your request online here through the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Office.

You can also request a mail-in ballot in writing (by email, fax or mail) to the SOE office, in person or by phone, according to the agency’s website.

The following information is required to have a vote-by-mail ballot mailed to you:

• Name of the voter for whom the ballot is requested
• Voter’s address
• Voter’s day of birth
• Requester’s name, address, driver’s license number and relationship to voter
• Requester’s signature (only if requested in writing)

Market vote-by-mail ballots must be received at the Supervisor of Elections office at 600 301 Blvd. W. in Bradenton no later than 7 p.m. on Nov. 8, Election Day. Other return options are available for Military and Overseas Voters.

Ballots cannot be returned to a polling place on Election Day, the office said.

Instructions for completing the vote-by-mail ballot are included with the ballot.

If you decide to vote at the polls instead, you should bring your vote-by-mail ballot (whether or not it has been marked). Even if you don’t bring it, you will be able to vote using a regular ballot if the Supervisor of Elections office can confirm that it hasn’t received your vote-by-mail ballot.

If it’s confirmed that you’ve already voted, though, you can’t vote again at the polls. If you believe/insist that the office is wrong about receiving your vote-by-mail ballot, they’ll allow you to fill out a provisional ballot.

Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail or in person at a secure ballot intake station at any of the county’s early voting locations.

Early voting is available daily through Nov. 6, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the following locations:

• Lakewood Ranch Town Hall, 8175 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., Lakewood Ranch
• Manatee County Utilities Administrative Office, 4410 66th Street W., Bradenton
• Palmetto Library, 923 6th Street W., Palmetto
• Rocky Bluff Library, 6750 U.S. Highway 301, Ellenton
• Supervisor of Elections Office, 600 301 Blvd. W., Bradenton
