BRADENTON, FL — As she goes down her naughty and nice list this Christmas season, Chief Melanie Bevan wanted to know where Bradenton’s mayor and her counterparts at other law enforcement agencies in the area fell, so she asked her administrative assistant – Santa Claus – for help in a new holiday video released by Bradenton police.
In this fun video, shared on Twitter Friday, as the chief reviews her list, she calls out, “Hey Santa, just checking my list against yours.” (Watch the full video below.)
Once she has his attention, Bevan asks him where some local leaders fall on the list.

Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells?
“Yeah, we’ll be nice to him. He’s on the nice list,” Santa said.
Bevan also asks about “some of the new kids on the block,” Rex Troche, interim chief of the Sarasota Police Department, and Ruben Delgado, interim chief of Tampa Police Department.
“I hear they’re doing a great job,” she added. “Naughty or nice list? What do you think?”
Santa assured her, “They’re on the nice list.”
“Good to hear. I agree,” Bevan said.
After a brief pause, she added, “Hey Santa, it goes without saying I’m on that nice list, right?”
And he just smiled and winked at the camera.
