Thanksgiving 2021: What’s Open, Closed In Manatee County

Here are some closures and schedule changes for government offices, facilities and services over the holiday weekend.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — As Manatee County residents prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services to keep in mind this holiday weekend.

Manatee County government offices: All offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Garbage and recycling: There will be no trash or recycling pick-up on Thursday. Thursday’s schedule will move to Friday, and Friday’s collections will move to Saturday.

Manatee County Area Transit: The MCAT fixed route and Handy Bus services will not be available on Thanksgiving Day but resume on Friday. The MCAT administration and sales and information offices are closed Thursday and Friday.

Manatee County Public Schools: Schools closed Monday for the holiday week and will remain closed through Friday.

Bradenton City Hall: Closed Wednesday at 1 p.m., Thursday and Friday. Will reopen Monday.

Other city of Bradenton government offices: Closed Thursday and Friday. Will reopen Monday.

City of Bradenton trash collection: Thursday’s schedule for household garbage, yard waste and recycling will move to Friday. Friday’s collection will take place on Saturday.

City Centre Parking Garage: Will close Wednesday at 7 p.m. to prepare for several days of deck sealing. The bottom floor will remain open for guests at SpringHill Suites hotel.
