What’s Open, Closed On New Year’s Day 2022 In Manatee County

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — While New Year’s Day is often a day to recover from the previous night's festivities, if you do plan to head out, it’s good to know how the holiday may affect the availability of services in the Bradenton area.

New Year’s Day is one of several holidays that usually affect the hours of government offices, libraries, public transportation, garbage pickup and other services in Manatee County.

To help you plan, here’s a roundup of what’s open and what’s closed on New Year’s Day in our area:

Manatee County Public Schools: Schools closed Wednesday for winter break and will reopen Jan. 6.

Manatee County government offices: All offices will be closed Friday.

County trash collection: There will be no changes to garbage, yard waste and recycling pick-up for residents of unincorporated Manatee County.

Manatee County Area Transit: There will be no fixed route, Handy Bus or Longboat Key Shuttle service on Saturday. The Anna Maria Trolley will run regular service on Saturday.

G.T. Bray Recreation Center: Closed Friday and Saturday.

Manatee County Public Libraries: Closed Friday and Saturday

Bradenton City Hall and other city offices: Closed Friday and will reopen Monday. Offices could close early Thursday based on demand for services.

City trash collection: Bradenton's solid waste collection will not be affected by the holiday.
