BRADENTON, FL β As the country recovers from the coronavirus pandemic and looks back on the hardship of last yearβs holiday season β which involved a lot of social distancing β families in 2021 will reunite and begin a hunt for the ideal Christmas tree.
Did you know that some 350 million Christmas trees are growing in all 50 U.S. states, and 25 million are cut and purchased each year?
Last year, the National Christmas Tree Association developed a guide including recommendations and best practices for Christmas tree sellers to follow. They include frequently sanitizing items and areas such as hand saws, tree cart handles, counter-tops, door handles and restrooms.

This nonprofit organization will operate its annual Christmas tree lot fundraiser in the Westgate Shopping Center located at 3913 Manatee Ave. West in Bradenton. The lot opened the day after Thanksgiving.
Through Dec. 16, the lot will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 7 p.m.
This year, Alpine Christmas Trees will operate only one location at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church located at 11315 Palmbrush Trail in Lakewood Ranch. There you'll find Fraser fir trees ranging from 3-feet to 12-feettall, wreaths and tree stands.
The lot will operate through Dec. 18. Lot hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
