Woman Crossing Street Hit By Truck: FL Highway Patrol
A woman crossing the street in Manatee County was critically injured after being hit by a pick-up truck, Florida Highway Patrol said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A pedestrian was critically injured after being hit by a pick-up truck Thursday morning in Manatee County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The truck, driven by a 50-year-old Bradenton man, stopped for a yield sign in the right turn lane of Lockwood Ridge Road at the intersection of University Parkway just before 9 a.m.
As the truck continued forward, a 71-year-old Bradenton woman was crossing the street from the sidewalk, FHP said.

The truck’s left front hit the woman, who was critically injured and brought to a nearby hospital.
The crash is under investigation.
