Woman Fatally Shot In Car In Bradenton After Calling 911: Police

A 53-year-old woman was shot to death in her car in Bradenton after calling police to say "someone was pointing a gun at her," BPD said.

BRADENTON, FL — Minutes after calling 911, a 53-year-old woman was found shot to death in her car in Bradenton on Saturday night.

Sherline White dialed 911 around 9:30 p.m. and said that “someone was pointing a gun at her,” according to a Bradenton police news release. The call abruptly ended, and she couldn’t be reached after it was disconnected.

Just a few minutes later, officers arrived to the 200 block of 11th Ave. E. and found White dead in her vehicle. She was shot multiple times and numerous shell casings were found on the front porch of a residence, police said.

Albert Wilcox, 41, was identified as a suspected and he was taken into custody by the Glades County Sheriff’s Office just after midnight on Sunday.

He was charged with one count of murder with a firearm, and, as of Sunday, he was being held at the Glades County Detention Center awaiting his transfer back to Manatee County.
