Woman Killed While Crossing I-75: FL Highway Patrol

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A Tampa woman was killed while crossing Interstate 75 Monday night in Manatee County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 26-year-old was walking east on the interstate at mile marker 224, near U.S. 301, around 8:40 p.m.

As she tried to cross the I-75 travel lanes, she was hit by a car traveling south, FHP said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car’s driver, a 20-year-old Sarasota man, and his passenger, a 19-year-old Sarasota woman, were uninjured in the crash.
