Yard Waste Pickup 1 Day Behind In Bradenton: City

A CDL truck driver shortage has put yard waste collection one day behind in Bradenton, the city said.

BRADENTON, FL — Yard waste collection is one day behind in Bradenton because of a shortage of CDL drivers.

“We are working feverishly to catch up, so please leave your yard waste out,” the city wrote Thursday in a Facebook post. “There is a possibility we will be working on the weekend, so keep it out.”

According to the city's website for Solid Waste Services:

  • Yard waste should be bagged, bundled or placed in blue bins.
  • Twigs and small limbs must be bundled in neat piles of no more than 6 feet long and 2 feet high and placed for curbside pickup. Bundles don’t have to be tied.
  • Grass cuttings, leaves and small clippings can be placed in a bag or bin and placed at the curb.
  • Palm fronds of any size will be picked up from the curb.
  • Yard waste piles that have tree stumps or large branches over 6 feet long and/or 3 feet in diameter require special collection. These kinds of collections are subject to a special collection charge of $16.86 per cubic yard.
  • Yard waste generated by any business that provides lawn maintenance, tree trimming or tree removal must also be hauled away by the business providing the service.
