1,541 Pounds Of Medication Collected On Drug Take Back Day
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office participated in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at four locations, including Brandon.
BRANDON, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office collected 1,178 pounds of prescription drugs between two locations, Brandon Regional Hospital and Walmart in Town 'N' Country, on Saturday at its National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
In total, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office collected 1,541 pounds of medication, which is more than the total from 2019's eight collection locations.
Residents were allowed to drop off unused prescription drugs to law enforcement officials who safely disposed of them, authorities said.

The other drop off locations included:
- CVS, 3102 W Gandy Blvd, Tampa
- Walmart, 1505 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa
"We could not have asked for a better turn out at this year’s Prescription Drug Take Back Event,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “I am thankful that our community took advantage of this great opportunity to dispose of their medication in a safe way. These are the necessary steps we must all take to help fight the opioid crisis across Tampa Bay and prevent prescription medication from getting into the hands."
