1 Dog Dies, Another Rescued In Early Morning Brandon House Fire

One firefighter injured. The resident was not at home, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

BRANDON, FL – Flames were soaring through the roof of a Brandon home and a live power line was down this morning when crews arrived at the scene on the 1100 block of Alpine Drive.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was called at 12:19 a.m. to the blaze and fought the fire from the outside until the power was secured, officials said.

The occupant was not home at the time of the blaze. During a search of the house's interior, crews found and rescued one dog, the department said. Another died in the fire, according to news reports.

One firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries.
