2 Armwood High Students Charged In St. Pete Shooting
The students were charged in connection with a Sunday shooting at a Holiday Inn Express.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Two Armwood High School students face criminal charges following a Sunday morning shooting at a St. Petersburg Holiday Inn Express that left two people injured.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Charles Edwin Jones, 16, was charged with attempted murder. Shawn Antonio Turner-McGee, 18, faces aggravated assault charges in the case, the police department wrote in an email to media.
The incident that led to the arrests unfolded when St. Petersburg Police were called around 12:30 a.m. Sunday about a shooting at the 2171 54th Ave. N. motel that occurred during a birthday party. Police say an argument broke out and a Tampa man and teenager were both shot.

The man, Octavius David Brown, 19, was last listed in critical, but stable condition at a local hospital. The teen, Demetrius Crawford, 17, was shot in the hand and was being treated for his injuries.
Police say the two suspects were arrested Monday at Armwood High where they are both students. Both were being booked into the Hillsborough County Jail Monday afternoon, the police department said.
