2 Killed In Bell Shoals Road Crash

The accident occurred Thursday evening, killing a Brandon man and Tampa woman.

BRANDON, FL — Two people are dead and a third injured following a crash on Bell Shoals Road Thursday night.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Kurtis Jackson, 25, of Brandon was heading south on Bell Shoals around 9:30 p.m. Jackson was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Impala and passed a slower southbound vehicle, the agency wrote in an email to media.

Jackson, however, quickly swerved back into the southbound lane to avoid an oncoming motorcycle, the agency said. When he did, Jackson lost control of his car, overcorrected, swerved back into the northbound lane. He subsequently struck a 2013 Nissan Rogue driven by Jamie Gold, 35, of Valrico, the agency said.
