21-Year-Old Seffner Man Charged With DUI Manslaughter: FHP

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a sedan died on U.S. Highway 92 in Brandon after a drunk driver crashed into him.

BRANDON, FL — A 21-year-old Dover man has been charged with DUI manslaughter after he was involved in a crash that killed a 29-year-old Seffner man and seriously injured a 28-year-old woman on U.S. Highway 92 in Brandon on Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Authorities said the 21-year-old driver, Avellaneda Teodoro, ran a stoplight at the intersection of U.S. Highway 92 and McIntosh Road at 11:45 p.m., and crashed into the victim's sedan that drove eastbound on the highway.

Investigators said the driver of the sedan died at a local hospital.

The passenger experienced serious injuries, officials said.

Teodoro did not suffer any injuries, detectives said.

He was taken to the Hillsborough County Jail, troopers said.

Florida Highway Patrol did not provide a booking photo of Teodoro.
