22-Year-Old Seffner Pedestrian Killed By Sheriff's Patrol Car
A 22-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a Hillsborough County Sheriff's patrol car Saturday.

SEFFNER, FL — A 22-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a Hillsborough County Sheriff's patrol car Saturday.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, around 2 a.m., Dec. 28, Marissa Berry was walking on Williams Road just north of East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when she walked into the path of a patrol car driven by Deputy Andrew Hagenberger, who was heading north on Williams Road. Berry died at the scene.
Hagenberger was en route to assist another deputy with a traffic stop at the time. The deputy was uninjured. Investigators determined that he was traveling 55 mph in a 45 mph zone at the time. They believe the lack of street lights and the fact that Berry was wearing dark clothing prevented him from seeing her until it was too late.
