29 Residents Lose Homes In Brandon Apartment Fire: Rescue
Sixteen units at a Brandon apartment building were damaged by a fire, and families who lived there are displaced, said officials.

BRANDON, FL — Twenty-nine Brandon residents are without a home as of Wednesday afternoon following an intense apartment fire that damaged their homes, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said.
The fire in a two-story building at Charleston Landing Apartments started just before 12:30 p.m., officials said.
According to authorities, it took multiple fire crews to extinguish the fire that spread to the attic of the building.

After 45 minutes, the fire was under control, and all residents along with their pets were safely evacuated, said fire rescue.
Investigators said eight apartments received fire and smoke damage, and a total of 16 units were affected.

The Red Cross has been contacted to assist these families with food, shelter and other needs.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue has not released the cause of fire.
