$5.3 Million Williams Road Project Begins Soon
Hillsborough County will stage a public meeting to give residents details about upcoming work on Williams Road and State Road 574.

SEFFNER, FL — Brandon area residents who want to learn more about upcoming construction on Williams Road and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard can get details during a public meeting set for Aug. 8.
The $5.3 million project is designed to improve the safety and overall traffic flow at the intersection, according to the county. To that end, the county plans to add dual northbound left turn lanes, a dedicated northbound right turn lane and two dedicated southbound left turn lanes on Williams Road.
The project’s details are the focus of a Monday, Aug. 8 meeting set to take place at the Seffner-Mango Public Library, 410 N. Kingsway Road, in Seffner. The 6 p.m. meeting will be held in the library’s community room and will feature an open house format. Attendees will be able to review construction plans with representatives from the public works department and make comments.

The project includes a number of features that go beyond new turn lanes. The county plans to add traffic separators, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, an upgraded traffic signal system and drainage improvements, among other features.
Work is expected to begin in September and should take about 10 months, according to the county.
