• Convicted felon arrested after prowler call in Brandon leads to chase: deputies (wfla.com) — Deputies arrested a convicted felon after a prowler call and foot chase through a Brandon neighborhood on Sunday, near the 700 block of Victoria Street. Hillsborough County deputies say they found the man hiding in nearby woods with burglary tools and over 100 rounds of ammunition, and he now faces ammunition and burglary-tool charges.
   

• 'This isn't a video game': Skid marks, burnt rubber cover parking lot after street takeover (wfla.com) — State troopers broke up a late-night street takeover at an industrial complex on East Columbus Drive in Brandon, arresting 16 people and towing multiple cars. Drivers face felony street racing charges and passengers were cited for joining the takeover. Officials warn these gatherings endanger spectators and nearby workers, urging parents and teens to take the risks seriously.
