Armwood Hawks Collide with Plant in Battle of Unbeatens Tonight

The Armwood Hawks (7-0, 4-0 Class 6A-District 8)  face their biggest challenge of the regular season tonight, Oct., 28, as they host the Plant Panthers (7-0, 2-0 Class 8A-District 6) in a prep football showdown.

The Hawks blanked the Panthers 17-0 in last year's matchup, but the Panthers are typically a second half team, and the collision tonight should be epic.

It pits two of the best teams in the state and two nationally-ranked teams against one another. Plant holds the No. 2 state rank, while Armwood is No. 5. Ironically, Xcellent Top 25, a national poll, has Armwood ranked No. 2.

Both teams could go on to win state titles, but this game will be looked at as a measuring stick in head-to-head competition.
