Arrest Made in Brandon Woman's Halloween Death
The woman was shot two times while returning from a celebration.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a man in connection with the Halloween night death of a Brandon woman.
The agency says Darryl Eugene Williams, 49, faces first-degree murder with a firearm charges. He is accused of firing two shots at Tiffany James, 35, outside her 1807 Chapel Tree Circle home.
The crime in question occurred around 11 p.m. Oct. 31 as James was approaching her home. Deputies say the woman was shot in front of her two 7-year-old daughters.

“The defendant approached the victim as she was walking to her residence, did not say a word and shot her two times before fleeing on foot undetected,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. “The victim and the defendant have two daughters in common and have lived together in the past.”
James was taken to a local hospital after the shooting, but died as a result of her injuries, deputies said.

Williams was charged in the case Tuesday evening. He was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
