Bicyclist Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash In Dover; Sheriff Seeks Tips
Deputies discovered a man dead of upper-body trauma who was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle along Sydney-Dover Road.

DOVER, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in Dover that left a bicyclist dead.
Around 9:15 p.m. Aug. 13, deputies responded to a hit-and-run traffic crash in the 3200 block of Sydney-Dover Road. When deputies arrived, they discovered a man dead of upper-body trauma who was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle near or within the northbound lane of Sydney-Dover Road, according to a sheriff's report.
Detectives said they are searching for a small, dark-colored pickup truck.

"Fleeing the scene of a crash is not only cruel, but it's also illegal," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This victim's family deserves answers, and our detectives are working diligently to solve this case. If anyone has information or recognizes this vehicle, please contact us immediately."
