Bicyclist Seriously Injured in U.S. 301 Crash
The accident happened Tuesday night near Progress Boulevard.
A 39-year-old Riverview man is in serious condition following an accident on U.S. 301 Tuesday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Remigio Baerga was riding a bicycle west while crossing the southbound lanes of U.S. 301 around 9:30 p.m. Baerga was south of Progress Boulevard at the time when he was struck by the front of a Ford F150 driven by Ira Johnson, 60, of Riverview.
Baerga was transported to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition. Johnson and his passenger were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation with charges pending.
