Brandon Bicyclist Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash On Kings Avenue
A bicyclist was killed Sunday, Sept. 23, when a car struck him from behind on South Kings Avenue in Brandon.
BRANDON, FL -- A bicyclist was killed Sunday, Sept. 23, when a car struck him from behind on South Kings Avenue in Brandon.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, John Dilgard, 73, was riding a mountain bike south on Kings Avenue near the intersection of Calm Drive at 12:42 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene of the accident.
Dilgard was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies have identified a person they believe is responsible for the crash. They say alcohol may have played a role. Charges are still pending.
