Brandon Gets Lucky; Lures New Stores To Old Kmart Plaza
The owner of the shopping center is undertaking a major remodel with a Lucky's Market as the centerpiece.
BRANDON, FL -- Unlike other big-box stores that have gone out of business in the community, the old Brandon Kmart on State Road 60 at Lakewood Drive won't be vacant for long.
The owner of the shopping center, SITE Centers of Beachwood, Ohio, formerly DDR Corp., is undertaking a major remodel with a Lucky's Market as the centerpiece.
The 228,176-square-foot shopping center, to be renamed The Collection at Brandon Boulevard, will also include a new Bealls Outlet and Home Centric home furnishings store.

Colorado-based grocery chain Lucky's Market is currently making a major move into the Florida market. The company plans to open 15 new Florida stores over the next year. Lucky's already has 13 stores in Florida including one in St. Petersburg and another in Sarasota.
The grocery store specializes in fresh, locally grown produce and ready-to-eat meals from scratch. The new Lucky's will occupy 21,680 square feet of the remodeled plaza.

Additionally, a 28,000-square-foot Bealls Outlet and a Home Centric home furnishings and decor store will occupy the center with existing businesses Kane's Furniture, Chuck E Cheese's, Top China Buffet, Mission BBQ and the Mobile gas station.
