Brandon Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

A 46-year-old Brandon man is dead following a motorcycle crash early Thursday morning on Providence Run Boulevard.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Leslie Dale Funkhouser was heading east on Providence Run Boulevard around 2:33 a.m. when his 2012 Harley Davidson drifted to the right. The motorcycle became unbalanced in the drainage gutter, an email from the agency to media stated.

“He and the motorcycle went down and he slid across the road where he struck a tree on the other side,” the email stated.

There were no other people or vehicles involved.

Deputies say Funkhouser was wearing a helmet and eye protection at the time of the crash.
