Car Fire Closes I-75 Northbound Lanes

Motorists heading northbound on Interstate 75 in the Gibsonton area may want to choose a different route Friday afternoon.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, all but one lane south of Exit 240 in the Gibsonton area is closed following a fully engulfed vehicle fire.

Deputies say traffic is congested south about 10 miles to the Sun City Center exit.

Details about the accident are not readily available.
