Complimentary Laundry Project Returns to Benefit Tarpon Springs Families
Current of Tampa Bay will be returning to Tarpon Springs to host their 3rd Laundry Project for the community.

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – (Nov. 20, 2014) – Saturday, November 22, Current of Tampa Bay will be returning to Tarpon Springs to host their 3rd Laundry Project for the community. The program was created to assist low-income families by covering all laundry expenses, along with providing the necessary items needed to wash clothes and linens.
The Laundry Project will be held at Tarpon Springs Laundromat located at 40976 US Hwy 19 N. from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Many low-income families are regularly forced to choose between putting food on the table and clean clothes. Considering the average American family washes between eight and 10 loads of laundry every week, the Laundry Project is truly a blessing for some.
“It’s always a great feeling to return to a neighborhood, where the community recognizes and appreciates our efforts to improve the lives of its residents,” said Jason Sowell, President of Current of Tampa Bay. “There are many organizations that offer support around the world, but we believe it’s also important to assist those in our backyard.”
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tarpon Springs, Bayou Presbyterian Church, and Center for Religious Tolerance are partnering with Current of Tampa Bay to sponsor the event. Volunteers will be on hand to assist families where needed. Members of the community can also contribute by donating much needed supplies including detergent, quarters (rolls of $10), one-gallon Ziploc bags, garbage bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener and laundry baskets. More information about this and additional upcoming events can be found online at www.LaundrybyCurrent.org.
