FTC Takes Action to Stop Nationwide Debt Collection Scam Targeted At Spanish-Speaking Consumers
In a recent press release, the FTC announced that it requested a U.S. district court in Miami to temporarily shut down a fraudulent, bogus debt collection operation run by Centro Natural Corp. and Sumore L.L.C that deceived thousands of Spanish-speaking consumers nationwide out of at least two million dollars in money they did not owe by threatening harsh consequences like jail time or immigration status investigation.
