Deputies Stop Suicide Attempt

Hillsborough County deputies found a woman semi-conscious inside a vehicle left running in a closed garage Monday night.

VALRICO, FL — Two Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are getting the credit for saving a Valrico woman during a Monday evening suicide attempt.

According to the agency, Deputies Jeffery Stout Jr., 32, and Dan Jones, 43, performed a welfare check on a home in Valrico around 8:20 p.m. Monday. Family, the agency wrote in an email to media, requested the check.

Jones arrived on the scene first and heard a vehicle running inside the garage and noticed the door felt hot to the touch. Stout arrived shortly thereafter and the two made a forced entry into the home, the email said.
