Do You Like 'Big Mutts?'

Hillsborough County Pet Resources is hoping so.

Move over Sir Mix-A-Lot, the folks at Hillsborough County Pet Resources are busting out their own rhyme.

In honor of October’s National Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month, staff members at the Pet Resource Center came together to put their own spin on the rapper’s famed tune “I Like Big Butts.”

In Hillsborough’s case, however, the singers favor “big mutts.” And, it seems they cannot lie, they’re hoping residents throughout the region will be willing to give them a try.

To that end, the shelter is pulling out all the stops for its monthly First Saturday Celebration set to take place this weekend. In addition to posting the creative remix on YouTube, the shelter is offering a name-your-own-price promotion on Saturday on all dogs weighing 30 pounds or more.

Not to leave cats out in the cold, Saturday’s event also features special pricing on felines. Cat lovers can adopt a four-legged friend for half-off the normal rate.
