Dover Man Arrested After Deputies' Cruisers Rammed
The search for the driver continues.

A 28-year-old Dover man faces a number of criminal charges after Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say he was the passenger inside a stolen car that was responsible for ramming two cruisers during a getaway Wednesday afternoon.
The incident that led to Aaron Pegg’s arrest began to unfold around 12:32 p.m. Wednesday when deputies spotted a black 2006 Audi A6 that had been reported stolen. The car was occupied when deputies saw it in the IGA parking lot at 14720 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., an email to media from the sheriff’s office stated.
When deputies attempted to make contact with the driver, the person, the email said, put the car in reverse and rammed into a sheriff’s office vehicle that was positioned behind it. The driver then took off, hitting a car in the parking lot.

“Deputies attempted to position their vehicles to box in the stolen vehicle when the driver put the vehicle in reverse and rammed the front of a different Sheriff’s Office vehicle,” the email said.
The man continued on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard “at a high rate of speed,” the email stated. A short time later, a sheriff’s office helicopter pilot spotted the vehicle in a ditch at the intersection of Turkey Creek Road and Holloway Road.
