Dover Man Killed in Pinellas Crash

A 55-year-old Dover man is dead following a one-car crash on Gandy Boulevard east of 4th Street Monday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving westbound on Gandy just after 9 a.m. when he suffered a medical emergency and lost control of his Volvo. The car traveled into the center median, struck a speed limit sign and crossed into the eastbound lanes of Gandy before striking a second street sign.

The man was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he later died, troopers wrote in an email to media.

The identity of the man has not yet been released.
