The wreck in the Brandon area reportedly compromised the integrity of the building.

TAMPA, FL — An early Sunday morning crash in the Brandon area left one man injured and a building damaged.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Roger Cooper, 22, of Marysville, Ohio, was heading south on U.S. 301 around 4:20 a.m. Sunday. For reasons unknown, deputies say Cooper crossed the road and began going south in the northbound lanes. Cooper lost control of his 1999 Honda Accord and slammed into the building at 9901 Alambra Ave.

“The vehicle was driven through the building and hit a concrete fence located at the rear of the property,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. “The driver was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.”
