An overturned dump truck tied up morning traffic for several hours on U.S. 301 approaching Stacy Road in Thonotosassa.

THONOTOSASSA, FL -- An overturned dump truck tied up morning traffic for several hours on U.S. 301 approaching Stacy Road in Thonotosassa.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at around 8:33 a.m., a dump truck driven by Carl F. Comadore, 56, of Avon Park was traveling north on U.S. 301 approaching Stacy Road. A 2010 Mazda CX7 driven by Jeanne P. Demarco, 50, of Zephyrhills was heading south. According to troopers, Comadore didn't see a vehicle stopped in front of him to turn into a private driveway and took evasive action to avoid crash into it.
As a result, he swerved onto the east shoulder of U.S. 301. He then over-corrected and swerved back onto U.S. 301 at which point the dump truck overturned, spilling a load of dirt in the path of Demarco's car. Demarco turned west to avoid a collision and hit a fence.
