Elderly Bicyclist Injured in Crash
The 71-year-old is in critical condition after an early Thursday morning run-in with a car.
An early morning bike ride ended in tragedy for a 71-year-old man from Apollo Beach.
According to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cristal Bermudez Nunez, Arthur Horn was riding his bike eastbound near the right shoulder of Apollo Beach Boulevard around 6:24 a.m. Thursday when he was struck by a 2002 Toyota Avalon driven by Giacinto G. Di Grazia, 51, also of Apollo Beach.
Di Grazia was also going eastbound on Apollo Beach Boulevard in the right lane at the time, Bermudez Nunez said. The front of Di Grazia’s vehicle struck Horn.

Horn was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
