The Estates at Carpenters teams up with sheriff's office, restaurants to help purchase dogs for K9 unit
Dining for Dogs event to raise funds for K-9 for Cops program
Dedicated law enforcement officers have partnered with K9s to help patrol the streets of Polk County to find missing children, detect illegal narcotics, and help perform security sweeps of public buildings.
To support the officers who protect the citizens of Polk County, The Estates at Carpenters, a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community, and Polk County Sheriff’s Office have joined forces to form K9s for Cops. This program is committed to purchase dogs for the K9 unit and provide for the dogs’ wellbeing and care throughout their careers. K9s for Cops will be holding a Dining for Dogs fundraising event August 12, 2015.
Diners who eat at participating restaurants on Aug. 12, may simply write the word “K9’s” on the back of their receipt. Each restaurant will donate a portion of the receipt to the K9s for Cops program.
