State requirements:
Get Your Boater Safety Education Card- Did you know that anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 must have a Boating Safety Education ID Card to legally operate a boat in Florida. The completion of a Coast Guard approved boating safety course will qualifies for this requirement.
Those who successfully complete the ABS program and exam become eligible to obtain a state-recognized Safe Boating ID card. Many insurance companies will offer discounts when you have obtained your Safe Boating card. This is the ideal basic boating safety course for busy individuals just starting out in boating or those needing a boating safety refresher or individuals who may be unable to attend our more in-depth Boating Skills and Seamanship Course.

Free Vessel Safety Checks are offered the 1st and 3rd Saturdays monthly at Williams Park boat ramp on the Alafia River. This is a free service and if the vessel meets all requirements a decal is issued to be placed on the windshield.
