Extension To Host Workshop Saturday

BRANDON, FL - From Hillsborough County: Are you bugged by beetles in your begonias? Want to invest your money for retirement but have no sense for how to start? Looking for ways to be a better parent? The Hillsborough County Extension Service offers something for just about everyone, and you can learn more at an open house this Saturday, May 4, from noon to 2 p.m. at their offices, 5339 County Road 579 in Seffner.
In partnership with the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, the Extension Service in a one-stop shop for expert advice on a wide range of topics, including lawn care and gardening, personal finance, estate planning, nutrition, food preservation, youth development, small farms/alternative enterprises, commercial agriculture, and much more. Extension staff and trained volunteers also teach a number of classes that are either free, or offered for a nominal cost.
Saturday’s open house will feature hands-on demonstrations, youth activities, tours of the Bette S. Walker Discovery Garden, and a wealth of free publications on many subjects. Extension staff will be available to share their expertise and answer questions.
